Working in close collaboration, the glasses are hand-cast in a single mould from amber borosilicate glass, its flat stem and squared foot follow Larcombe's original sketch, a shape her employer's machine-made process could never have produced. The bowl narrows almost imperceptibly from base to rim, a detail added to draw out the notes of a good wine. Sold as a set of two, it sits equally well on a table or alone on a shelf, the way Larcombe keeps her own favourite glass pieces at home. Produced in a limited run of 250 sets, it brings a fifty-year-old design into production for the first time, a collaboration between the designer who dreamed it and the maker who found a way to make it real.

The moment they both knew the design was right came when Larcombe picked up the very first sample glass and turned it over in her hand before she said a word.

“I would hope it felt natural in people’s hands and that they could admire the simplicity.” – Denise Larcombe

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0585/0847/6595/files/20260910_PHM_LIVING_COLLECTION_07crop3.jpg?v=1790897665
the-blue-and-red-danggari-kite
The Blue and Red Danggari Kite (청홍외당가리연)

Master Bae Moosam's kite is a jiyeon, the traditional Korean form built rectangular with a central hole that lets the wind pass through, generating the vortex that gives the kite its pulling force. Made from 99.9% recycled polyester spun from traceably sourced plastic bottles, each bag repurposes around 33 bottles through Oroton's partnership with Waste2Wear. Oroton's signature branding remains on one side of the tote, while the opposite side is printed with 1879, marking the founding year of the museum and creating a mirrored expression of the collaboration. Produced in Oroton's familiar Everyday Tote silhouette, the Powerhouse edition comes in two colourways, North Sea and Pistachio, built for errands, work or a day spent wandering Parramatta.

B.A.S.E.C. Developed in partnership with the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA, Rotterdam), The Mall explores the history, currency and future of shopping as a cultural phenomenon. The publications are conceived as a suite of ‘bookazines’ — hybrid book/magazines — and combine long-form essays, interviews, short curatorial texts and critical and literary writing alongside visual essays and portraiture as well as illustrations, charts and infographics related to shopping malls around the world. Riffing on the magazine typology, curated ‘advertising’ from partner brands creates a dynamic front section. Developed over 4 years, Task Eternal is an expansive and immersive program tracing humanity’s enduring quest to defy gravity, take flight, journey into space and return. The publication has been developed as a cosmogram, tumbling around many and varied viewpoints, while loosely structured around a textual sculpture by artist Agatha Gothe-Snape. Spanning First Nations Sky Knowledges and early aviation to cutting edge aerospace innovation, ethics and speculative futures, Task Eternal holds: a reprint of Ted Chiang’s influential short story ‘The Tower of Babylon’, 15 new writing commissions by leading authors, insights from 13 featured artists and opinion pieces from dozens of subject matter experts — including aviators, astronauts, engineers, space architects, scientists and activists. Also featured are highlights from among the more than 600 exhibition objects, including items from the Powerhouse Collection and loans from leading local and international science and cultural institutions.
