Candle Seven

Regular price

Candle Seven takes its fragrance notes of fig, Geraldton wax, aniseed myrtle and saltbush, from the planting palette of the Powerhouse Parramatta productive rooftop garden. Geraldton wax is prized for its long-lasting waxy flowers and aromatic foliage, while aniseed myrtle is a native rainforest plant with longstanding use as a bush food, prized for its distinctive aniseed character.

Blended from natural soy, beeswax and non-toxic paraffin wax, it burns for approximately 80 hours. It is  poured into a refillable Mud Australia porcelain vessel in the Steel colourway, handmade in the brand’s Sydney studio from porcelain clay sourced from Limoges, France. Pigment is added directly to the porcelain body for depth of colour, while the interior is finished with a clear glaze. Made in small batches, each piece carries subtle variations and traces of the hand-finishing process.

Designed as a lasting alternative to disposable candle vessels, the porcelain can be refilled with candle refills available through Mud Australia or repurposed as a small planter, catchall or object for the home.

MUD Australia

MUD Australia

Mud Australia was founded in Sydney in 1994 by ceramicist Shelley Simpson, who built the brand into one of Australia's best known porcelain homewares names. Every piece is handmade at the studio in Marrickville, using porcelain clay sourced directly from Limoges, France, with pigment mixed in-house and tinted into the body at slip stage for depth of colour. A clear glaze finishes the interior of each piece, leaving the exterior a stone-like surface that grows smoother with handling. Mud Australia now operates studios and stores across Sydney, Melbourne, London, New York and Los Angeles, and remains climate neutral.
