Created in collaboration with Powerhouse Made™, the Academy Throws continue Fiona Lynch and Waverley Mills’ partnership, drawing on the key colourways Lynch developed for the interiors of  Powerhouse Parramatta's Lang Walker Family Academy. Made from 22-micron Tasmanian merino wool, each throw is carded, spun, dyed and woven entirely on site at Waverley Mills, Australia's last fully vertical woollen mill, then milled, raised for loft and finished by hand. Available in three variations, together spanning the full four-colour Academy palette. The partnership began with Desert Field, an earlier range inspired by Fiona Lynch's walk along the Larapinta Trail, made from wool grown at Tasmania's Winton Estate, a property her own grandfather long admired and once drew on to shape his own flock's genetics.

"The Fiona Lynch x Waverley Mills Collection reflects a shared commitment to sustainability, design excellence, craftsmanship and a deep love of merino wool." – Fran Maiale, CEO, Waverley Mills

Waverley Mills is Australia's last fully vertical woollen mill, carding, spinning, dyeing and weaving entirely on site in Launceston since 1874. For Powerhouse Parramatta, the mill partnered with interior designer Fiona Lynch, one of more than fifty Australian designers commissioned to shape the new museum, to create a range of woollen throws and a picnic rug for the Academy. Lynch's own studio designed the immersive interiors of the Lang Walker Family Academy's overnight accommodation spaces within Powerhouse Parramatta, where up to ten thousand secondary students from regional New South Wales and Western Sydney will stay each year, and the throws extend that same colour language into something people can take home.
