DuckTape Wall Hanger

FEARON’s DuckTape takes its name from the common mispronunciation of duct tape, an idea that presented itself while he was storing a roll on his workshop wall, hung from a single screw. The coloured outer shell fixes cleanly over an internal wall bracket; a detail borrowed from the beginnings of Jack Fearon’s beginnings in plumbing. It works as a visible picture hanger, bag hook, cupboard handle or coat hook, anything hook, with modular accessories extending it into a pen holder or clothing rack. Finishes include red or leaf green with a cream interior, and a signature Powerhouse edition in brushed aluminium with French blue, a colourway developed in response to FEARON’s bunk bed commission for the Lang Walker Family Academy at Powerhouse Parramatta. 

Designed and fabricated as part of Powerhouse 50+ Australian Designers initiative, the bunk beds celebrate Australian design talent and foster engagement with local industry, a narrative echoed in DuckTape’s adaptable, hard-working form.
